Oregon Wednesday

Wednesday Archie was in the hospital for gallbladder attach part two. He ended up having to be transported to Corvallis (about 2 hours away) via ambulance for emergency surgery. He ended up needing two surgeries over the course of two days. Yay Archie!

The rest of us shopped a little more and then headed down to the beach again with the kids to have fun and wear them out. Daniel was sad there was not enough wind to fly his kite, but then he discovered throwing sand at Mia and got over his kite disappointment.

Oregon Tuesday

I think this cute shot is going to turn violent

Maybe she will be an aircraft engineer...or flight attendant

Look how small the planes we fly in really are!

Sam hyperventilating screaming "PLANE PLANE PLANE"!

They are standing in front the the Spruce Goose

On Tuesday Dave and I  packed up the kids and headed to McMinnville to see the Evergreen Air Museum. We saw the world famous Spruce Goose and ran around in the kid flight area while Dave snapped hundreds of pics of planes. Dave has a love of WWII art and planes and anything that has anything to do with airplanes and or WWII. He even has painted quite a few airplanes himself check our his blog here.

Oregon Monday

Monday was a fun day. Gran took the kids to the beach and Dave and I headed to the outlets to shop. I know we have the same stored in Park City, but it was nice to be alone with Dave and somehow spending money is a lot more fun to do when you are on vacation. Plus Dave bought a new polo shirt from American Eagle that makes him quite the hottie.

Oregon Sunday

What do you mean we are going to church?

Daddy and the Burley

Thank goodness for the Burley

On Sunday our first full day in Oregon we headed off to church and then after our lunch/nap time we went for a family walk on the beach. Archie, my brother, had to make a trip to the ER for what turned out to be a gall bladder attack. It was only the beginning of our fun!

The Fun Begins

Heading to Boise

Yay we are at the beach!

This was our house

Pretty sunset

My sister Katie snapped this pic of an eagle

Last week we went on our annual trek to the Oregon Coast. I love going up there and enjoying the nice cool weather while it is hot and sticky here at home. We usually do the drive up in one and a half days stopping overnight in Boise and then making our way to the coast the next day. It is only a 14 hour drive, but with three kiddies in the back it makes for  along and very noisy trip. The worst is always coming home. We make that trip in one day and when you hit Ogden it is awful because you are so close and feel so far away still. After all day in the car hitting Ogden at 10:30pm makes you just feel tired.

We had a week of great weather and lost of sun which is unusual up on the coast. We also had a fun time trekking on the beach and playing in the sand/water for hours on end with the kids. We found quite a few shells and some starfish too.

The Fourth of July on the coast is a crowded mess though. At night everyone heads to the beach to have a fire and let off fireworks. Imagine nearly 1000 people making their own fires in small groups and all letting massive fireworks off all at once for hours. It was cool to see the light of the fireworks over the ocean, but it almost looked like a war zone with the beach littered with fires, people and explosions. And since I had to get up at 4am to head home the next morning, and our house was RIGHT ON THE BEACH; I was ready for the fun to end earlier than most. I am not sure what time everyone headed home, but as of 1am the party was still going strong.
