This is a stitchery project my Mother made for me right after I was born. I love how the pattern has a redheaded woman with a redheaded baby. My Mom said I would always walk up to her when she was working on it and point to the baby and say "baby, Lacy, baby". I know real articulate, but hey I was only one.
When I was pregnant with Daniel my Mom gave this to me at my baby shower and even though I have seen it on her walls all of my life, I was overjoyed that she was actually passing this beautiful project she work so hard on to me.
I have been looking for this same kit for a few years so I could make one for Mia and I finally found one (from 1977) on ebay! I love having the internet.
I do not know a thing about needle and thread crafts, so I will keep you posted as I try to learn and make this piece for my baby girl. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
